Come down to the Rex at the end of the month and join the Danjam Orchestra for 2 nights of music! We will be welcoming some new players to the band: Al Kay, Brian Dickinson, Matt Woroshyl, Cade Calder, and James Rhodes. Highlights will include: Brian Dickinson on Phantasm,  Al Kay, Matt Woroshyl, and Jeff King on  Wabash,  and and finally Harley Card on a brand new arrangement of mine. We will also be brushing the cobwebs off of my arrangement of "I've Never Been In Love Before," featuring Nick Morgan. Other exciting highlights will include: Mike Malone on "Alone Together," Jeff King on "At This Point," and "Phantasm" is always a treat with Alex Goodman and Florian Hoe

The WDR Big Band in Germany performed my arrangement of "Yesterdays" featuring Joshua Redman a couple weeks ago conducted by Rich DeRosa).

I'm pleased to announce I just got my first commission from the WDR Big Band in Germany. This band has a rich history and has featured many of the finest soloists and writers in the jazz tradition. I will be writing an arrangement of "Yesterdays" to feature saxophone soloist Joshua Redman . The music will be performed on January 24th and 25th, 2015 led by conductor Rich DeRosa. Come down to The Rex next week and join the Danjam Orchestra for our annual summer appearance in Toronto! The band will premiere my arrangement of Alex Dean's "Nice Guys" featuring low notes played by Justin Gray on the bass and Shirantha Beddage on the baritone sax. Other exciting firsts include: Tara Davidson's take on "Alone Together,"  Florian Hoefner's reimagining of "Song for Anna," and Alex Goodman's interpretation of "Phantasm."
