On Tuesday, March 12th 2013, Mark Promane's Humber "B" Big Band will be presenting an evening of my music featuring tenor saxophonist Alex Dean at the Rex in Toronto, Canada. They will be playing some Danjam Orchestra classics and premiering two arrangements of Alex's Dean's original tunes that I have just completed. 2013 will mark the 50th anniversary of the John Coltrane "Ballads" CD. To celebrate, I will be arranging all the music from the CD for jazz philharmonic orchestra (symphony + big band). I will be conducting a performance of this music in Toronto with a hybrid orchestra made up of members of my Danjam Orchestra and members of Victor Cheng's Sneak Peak Orchestra.
